Module 1: Superpower Superfoods

All of the items found in the center of the Food Target will be considered superfoods. However, at On Target Living we believe that there are three foods that stand out above the rest.

There are two nutrients the body needs from a nutrition standpoint to grow, thrive, and prevent disease. These nutrients include chlorophyll and omega 3 fats.

Chlorophyll is cleansing, detoxifying, and energizing and is anything deep green in color. The two highest sources of chlorophyll are spirulina/chlorella and wheatgrass. Omega 3s are in foods like fish, flaxseeds, and chia seeds. However, fish and these superseeds are made up of different forms of omega 3s, which is why it’s essential to include both sources. All of these foods are as close to the source as you can go and have been used as medicine for thousands of years.

Did you know adding these superfoods to your life, costs less than $5.00 per day? Check it out here!
Superfoods

Here, I break down the three most powerful superfoods.

Spirulina/chlorella will be especially great for building the immune system, helping with digestion, and will be super high in plant based protein.

Wheatgrass contains the highest source of minerals and will be especially great for maintaining a healthy pH and contributing to better bone health, metabolism, and better sleep.

Cod Liver Oil is loaded with omega 3 fats like DHA and EPA needed for heart health, brain health, hormonal health, and inflammation. Cod liver oil stands above other fish oils due to the quality, source, and being rich in vitamin D.

Keep in mind that flaxseeds and chia seeds are high in a different form of omega 3 fats called alpha linolenic acid which is helpful for digestion and contains anti-bacterial properties. Flaxseeds and chia seeds contain the same nutritional profile, so you can choose one over the other. Flaxseeds must be ground to absorb their omega 3 benefits and chia seeds must be added to a liquid.
Did you know that you can actually eat your stress away? Perhaps not in the way you may be thinking with a big piece of chocolate cake or a whole bag of chips--but with magnesium rich superfoods. Magnesium is our calming mineral and helps to improve stress, sleep, muscle soreness, pain, and inflammation. Magnesium allows us to relax and unwind from life's everyday stressors. The most powerful form of magnesium will come from foods versus supplements. It's important to understand that the human body does not eat nutrients, it eats food--and it's food that will be the most powerful and most affordable.

Choose magnesium-rich foods closest to the source or in their most natural state. The coolest part about consuming these nutrient rich foods is that they will naturally be the most flavorful. After all, flavor comes from nutrients. Learn more about magnesium by clicking the image to the right.
